The objective of the capacity building program is to promote the structural adjustment of traditional (old) industries, to make the industrial sector more sustainable (environmentally compatible), to diversify the industrial structure through new, modern, innovative industries, to promote intelligent production through increasing digitalisation and to accelerate the development of SMEs in Jincheng.
In a bid to familiarise state-owned and private companies in the region with advanced production and management methods required for structural change, Carl Duisberg Centren was commissioned to design and implement training courses for Chinese experts and managers from the coal, coal chemistry industries, foundry and mechanical engineering sectors. The training courses were held in Jincheng and in Germany - mainly in North Rhine-Westphalia and the new federal states.
The participants were civil servants and private entrepreneurs from the coal and coal chemistry industries, as well as machinery and plant construction companies in the city of Jincheng. The participants were managers from middle to upper management levels who were able to initiate and accompany change processes in enterprises in coordination with state authorities, government and party organisations.
In this project a total of about 100 Chinese experts and managers were trained in interactive seminars for five weeks by German business experts in Jincheng, covering subjects such as management, industry and intercultural topics. Moreover, they were given individual consultancy and preparation for their three-week stay in Germany. The training took place in German, a Chinese consecutive translation was provided.
